When the young sound shepherd Nolas sneaks out of the village at night with his sick brother to climb the arduous path to the shrine of awakening, the steep slopes of the valley are shrouded in thick fog. The shrine is said to have healing powers, which are Nola's last hope to cure his brother of his illness.
Once at the shrine, the Loud Monk agrees to play the Song of Awakening, and it seems to be having an effect. But even before it can be played to the end, the dense fog makes its way into the valley and swallows every noise, every sound and with them the song of awakening. The world is silent.
